Here’s how to get there:
By Air
Paro International Airport (PBH) is the only international airport in Bhutan, served by two airlines: Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines. The airport has direct flights from several cities in Asia, including:
- Delhi, Kolkata, and Guwahati (India)
- Bangkok (Thailand)
- Kathmandu (Nepal)
- Singapore
Flights to Bhutan offer spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest on clear days.
By Land
Bhutan has three border crossings open to tourists coming from India:
- Phuentsholing (closest to Kolkata, West Bengal)
- Samdrup Jongkhar (near Assam, northeastern India)
- Gelephu (also accessible from Assam)
These border points allow tourists to travel overland into Bhutan and are great options for those interested in exploring Bhutan’s scenic landscapes from the ground.
